3 poor or inappropriately fitted exterior roof cladding and in some cases the product used was never designed for the use for which it was used.

4 You many own a two storey building which has a bath room or kitchen on the top story, you may have a shower or toilet that was fitted wrong or the compound use has broken down because of age or the toilet or shower has a crack or split. If you have a kitchen on the top story of the building you may have a fridge which is leaking when the fridge defrosts itself, the tray which would normally hold that moisture may have come loose or may have moved or may be damaged. You should also check for leaks around the sink or drain pipe, you may have leaking hot water cylinder or pipe work.

Some of the faults above can be checked and rectified by your self or some one with some handyman skills but to see if any damage has been done or the extent to which moisture has penetrated your building frame work call in a thermographer. They will come with a thermal imaging camera when moisture is detected they will give you a image of the damaged area which you can not see with the naked eye.
